David Foster Wallace on 9/11,
A publication consisting of an essay, by the late novelist David Foster Wallace, which appeared in the October 25, 2001 issue of Rolling Stone and a dialogue with my parents about the impact of 9/11. To give more context to certain topics
that Wallace cites in his essay, I have added images. The images are in cyan, this color not only indicates what my own additions are but also refers to the clear sky on the day of 9/11.
On 9/11 I was only a child myself, so I wondered how my parents experienced this day and the aftermath. Through the dialogue, I found out not only how my parents had experienced 9/11, but also how they viewed certain issues surrounding the disaster. The essay describes the experience of 9/11 from the Midwest, so I found the dialogue in which two European people describe their image of the event a convenient addition.
