The sentence “An in-between place provides the common ground where conflicting polarities can again become twin phenomena.” by Aldo van Eyck was the fundament of this project. The outcome is a two-color screen print poster, which resulted
from a 'still' of a self-made spatial installation that refers to this sentence.
I found Da Vinci's bridge a convenient metaphor of this sentence. Not only because a bridge in itself is already a common ground of two sides, but also because the construction of Da Vinci's bridge could never exist without the polarities of weight and counterweight. The chosen colors in both the installation and poster can also be seen as polarities since they are complementary to each other.
